The setting of Memoirs of a teenage amnesiac is mainly in the home and the school of 17 year old Naomi. The school plays a huge part in the story because its where Naomi got her ingery. Without the home of Naomi you would never know whats he was like before she was hurt. The main situation of the story is Naomi falling down the stairs at school and she loses all her memory past 6th grade. Both settings of her house and her school tie in to when she got hurt and about Naomi.

The setting takes place in many places including the hospital, her school, and her house all in small town. Her school is an important setting because its where her accident took place and where she tries to remember the things she forgot. The Hospital is an important setting because its where they find out she doesn't remember anything and them trying to figure out whats wrong. Her house is an important setting because its where she spends time trying to figure out things shes forgotten.

The setting is in many places, The hospital, Her house, School and other places. Which is in a small town. Her accident happened in school, when she fell down the stairs but managed to save the expensive camera the yearbook just bought. The situation is Naomi doesnt remember anything past 6th grade. She doesnt even remember her house that her dad lives in. Naomi struggles remembering people that didnt go to elementry with her. She finds out that she really doesnt understand why she hangs out with the people she does, and that she only has one thing in common with her boyfriend.

The setting of this book takes place in small town during the main characters junior year. The setting in this story may be important later on in the book. Small towns have a small population which means that everyone who lives there is close and knows each other. The community will end up trying to help Naomi cause they will veiw her as family. The help from the community might help Naomi get her memory back.

An internal conflict that Naomi is struggling with in this book is that she wants to remember all the things she has forgotten. She wants to remember why she fell in love with her boyfriend ace in the first place. She wants to remember why she liked yearbook so much and just about everything about her life.
I predict that she wont worry so much about who she used to be, and concentrate on the new person shes about to become by making new friends and new relationships.

The main character Naomi, faces an internal conflict. Naomi's internal conflict is that when she was injured she lost four years of her memory. She not only doesn't remember the last four years, but she also doesn't remember her family's conflicts (divorce), her boyfriend, or even her closest friend, Will. She doesn't even know herself as to who she as before the injury. When she looks in the mirror she's a stranger to the reflection.

Naomi's internal conflict is not being able to remember anything past 6th grade. She needs all of friends help and families help to try and remember her memories that she lost. She cannot remember her parents divorce or why she signed up for yearbook. She doesn't know anyone from her school cause none of those people went to elementary school. She doesn't remember why she likes her boyfriend, or why she plays tennis. If she doesn't remember anything and her memory decides not to come back then she will have to pretty much restart her life.

Naomi's internal conflict is she has lost her memory. She can't remember anything past sixth grade, so people from elementary school are the only people she really recognizes. She struggles everyday remembering different things. Her boy friend, He best friend, Her friends, And reason why she likes these people. Naomi doesn't understand why she is with her boyfriend Ace, they only have tennis in common. Also Naomi doesn't remember why she is friends with Ace's friends, they clearly don't like her very much. Will is Naomi's best friend and she can't quite figure out why they're friends. They both work on the yearbook, but Naomi can't even remember why she likes the yearbook.

I think this book goes at a good pace, it kept my interest the whole way through, I never wanted to put it down. There was a good mix of all different kinds of characters. Not just jocks or rebels. This book had a lot of drama and interesting problems she had to face. Some favorite parts in the book was when she went on her first date with James or when Naomi finally broke up with Ace. This book was a great choice for the Gateway Book Award because it really keeps you interested and wanting to read more. Naomi goes through a lot of situations that some teenagers in real life would go through. Like peer pressure, and break ups. Teens could really relate to this book.

I liked most of the characters very much. The plot of the book was very good. It didn't stay in one place so it wasn't boring.
One of the moments that stood out to me was when Naomi lied to her dad and left to go see james when he needed her. I thought that was a bad decision because james left her alone at the beach for hours. Another moment that stood out to me was when Naomi and Ace started hanging out with each other again. I thought since she got her memory back Ace and Naomi would have gotten back together, but i guess that wasn't enough. One other moment that stood out to me was when Naomi realized she was in love with Will.
I never would have thought that Naomi and Will would end up together, that was shocking to me.
I think this book was a good choice for the Gateway Book Award because it was a very good book, I kept wanting to keep reading it. I didn't want to put it down.

The pace of the book was good, i kept interest the whole time. In fact i couldn't put it down. I loved the characters, James was mysterious, Naomi was finding out who she was, Ace was a stuck up jock, and Will was a nerdy best friend that only wanted to help. My favorite parts were when she finally went on that date with James. I thought he would be rude to her, but it turned out he is really sweet, and cares about her. When Naomi and Will got in a fight, i thought they would've made up the next day but they didn't. I'm really glad Naomi thought it was dumb of her to not like things she did before, She found new friends and finally is getting to know her dad fiance, Rosa Rivera. One thing to me the stood out the most was when Naomi got her memory back but didn't tell anyone. I understood it in a way, how she thought that it didn't matter if she told anyone because it wouldn't change anything. Maybe it would've. I think it would've been easier if she told her dad or James cause now she has to remember what she didn't remember and now she has to lie a lot to her dad. So basically i thought the book was amazing.

Over all when i finished my book i was kinda disappointed but happy at the same time. Im glad she got her memory back and things were back to normal and I'm happy she's with someone she knew all along. Im kinda disappointed because i didn't think it would end as it did. I thought she's make up fully with her mother and her and her ex ace would get back together but sometimes when you think something, you get something totally different.

  13. ive been having trouble figuring out what the climax of the story is. it certaintly isnt when she gets her memory back, ive though about when will is sick but that doesnt tie in with her real coonflict (which has nothing to do with any of the boys)
