  1. I loved this book. The idea of a senior growing up in a military academy was an entertaining one. Through the twists and turns in this book, Sorrells keeps us on our feet, never knowing what will happen next. Overall, this book had a bit of everything; romance, thrills, suspense, action, and guns. Definitely a favorite.

  2. since there is only one comment for me to respond to at this time, i would have to say that this book is not going the way i wished it would have went. to me it seems to have a cookie-cutter plot with some characters that have depth and others that are much too simple to gain any perspective on motivations. also i feel the setting is much too overdone by disney and nickelodeon to effectively portray a realistic and believable plot.

  3. I'm not so interested by this book. I feel it is very confusing with all of the twists. They aren't connected together which makes the book feel disjointed. I find myself becoming bored with the book at times and wondering where this twist came from. I also feel that Sorrells is trying too hard to put the book into a teenage boy's mind.

  4. The major external conflict is the main character trying to figure out who killed his mother. On this journey, he runs into many obstacles that hinder the process of his investigation. Also, he believes he has figured out who did it, but that is not the case and he encounters more problems trying to find the real culprit. An internal conflict that the main character faces is his thinking that his father killed his mother. This idea has put his father into a very negative light because he had always been closer to his mother. It also doesn't help that his father does things that are very suspicious.

  5. I wasn't really satisfied with the ending. I felt like it didn't really connect anything together which is how i felt most of the book was. I honestly don't think this book should have been selected for a gateway. Many of the "twists" didn't seem to be relevant to the story or connected in any way. I also kept finding some words that were out of place. It may have been just my book but if that was in every book then this book wasn't very well edited before it went to print. I was very bored with this book.
